Kelly Osbourne admits she’s not doing well and struggling with grief following the death of her rockstar father, Ozzy Osbourne.
“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough… but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” she wrote in a statement posted to her Instagram Story Monday.
Kelly, 40, said that the outpouring of love from her fans has been such a help as she mourns the loss of her dad.
“The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life,” she said, adding, “Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”
Kelly also shared some insight into how she is handling the death of the Black Sabbath frontman.
“Grief is a strange thing-it sneaks up on you in waves,” she said. “I will not be OK for a while-but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference.”
She continued, “I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”
Kelly ended her note by thanking her followers for “being there” and said that she “loves [them] all so much.”
Ozzy died on July 22 surrounded by family and friends. He was 76.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Kelly, his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and his other kids Jack, Aimee and Louis, confirmed in a joint statement obtained by Page Six at the time.
Their statement continued, “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Days later, Kelly shared how heartbroken she was after saying goodbye to the musician.
“I feel unhappy I am so sad,” she shared on social media on July 24. She then shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song, “Changes,” which she and her dad released as a duet in 2023, writing, “I lost the best friend I ever had.”
Ozzy was laid to rest by his family in a private funeral in Birmingham, England, where attendees included Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and other music industry greats.
Fans joined together to honor his memory with flowers and other tributes during the emotional funeral procession.
Ozzy had suffered from several health issues ahead of his death, including a years-long secret battle with Parkinson’s disease and a debilitating spinal injury.
In early July, Kelly slammed rumors claiming that Ozzy was dying after AI videos surfaced with the claims.
In 2023, Ozzy said that he would no longer be touring amid his health woes, however, he returned to the stage for one final gig last month in Birmingham alongside Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Jack Black.
At the farewell show, Sid Wilson proposed to Kelly in front of her dad and a sea of fans.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Sharon, who tied the knot in 1982, were parents to Kelly, as well as Aimee, 41, and Jack, 39.
Ozzy was also married to Thelma Riler from 1971 to 1982. They shared kids Elliot, 59, Jessica, 53, and Louis, 50.
