Benchmark stock market indices opened higher on Monday, on expectations of a rate cut from the Reserve Bank as it begins its 3-day Monetary Policy Committee meeting.
The S&P BSE Sensex added 229.73 points to 80,829.64, while the NSE Nifty50 rose 81.55 points to 24,646.90 as of 9:24 am.
