A woman died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of her apartment building in Hyderabad’s Himayatnagar. The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Pooja Jain, wife of Arun Kumar Jain.

A suicide note was recovered from the scene, in which she wrote that she was taking the step to meet God through self-sacrifice.

According to the police, the incident occurred while her husband was at work and she was alone at home.

A case has been registered and police have begun an investigation.

In a separate incident earlier this year, a 36-year-old woman, Priyansha Soni, allegedly died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi after being unable to perform Navratri rituals due to menstruation.

Police said she consumed poison at home while her husband, Mukesh Soni, was at work. She was first admitted to Jhansi Medical College and later discharged. Her condition worsened, and she was taken to the district hospital, where she died during treatment.

According to her husband, Priyansha was upset after she got her period on the first day of Navratri and could not take part in fasting or puja. He said she had been preparing for the festival and became emotionally disturbed when she could not participate.
