The Ajay Devgn-led comic caper, Son of Sardaar 2 has taken a slow start at the box office in India. According to very early estimates, Son of Sardaar 2 is headed to collect in the range of Rs. 6.50 crores to Rs. 7 crores on Friday, which is much below the industry expectations. The film has failed to entice audiences in the cinema halls, and the early reports, too, are not favourable.

The film has collected around Rs. 3.50 crores in the top multiplexes, and surprisingly, the business is not up to the mark in the single screens and non-national multiplexes too. This is one of the weakest openings ever for a commercial franchise film, and the reason for the subpar opening day are the promos and songs, which didn’t connect with the audience.

The film needs to show strong gains on Saturday and Sunday to have a face-saving result at the box office, as the first day business is dismal to say the least. Son of Sardaar 2 faced stiff competition from Dhadak 2, Mahavatar Narsimha, and Saiyaara, which has impacted the business.
