Now, once again, he has found himself in hot water; this time, he is facing disturbing accusations from his wife, Catherine Blair Bowman. On July 30, 2025, Former Maroon 5 bassist, Mickey Madden’s wife, Catherine Blair Bowman, filed court papers seeking for a temporary restraining order against him. She had made allegations against Mickey, accusing him of both sending explicit messages to minors and physical violence. A Los Angeles judge has approved the order, and it will also protect their two Siberian huskies. It will stay in place until August 20, 2025, when a court hearing is scheduled.

According to Catherine’s court filing, the incident began after a teenage girl tipped her off about explicit messages allegedly sent by Mickey. Catherine confronted him at their home and asked for his phone. She claims Mickey deleted his messages and became extremely violent with her. In horrifying details, she told that he grabbed her, slammed her body against a marble countertop, shoved her to the ground, and chased her outside while wearing only his underwear. She described him as ‘literally insane’ during the attack.

Catherine also submitted screenshots showing Mickey referring to those explicit messages as a ‘private and fake harmless fantasy,’ claiming it had no connection to real life. Catherine said that the messages were deeply disturbing, and she alleged that Mickey had hired 18-year-old escorts to role-play rape scenarios. In text messages, Mickey had reportedly expressed regret and insisted he would never act on the fantasy talk in his real life.

Catherine’s documents also included details of a prior incident from May 14, 2025, where she claimed that Mickey had subjected her to emotional and physical abuse. She said the repeated episodes of violence left her ‘terrified’ of him. She further accused Mickey of taking over her financial control during their five-year marriage, and she is reportedly seeking financial support from him as well as custody of their pets.
Mickey Madden has faced prior legal issues and arrests
Mickey left Maroon 5 in July 2020 following an unrelated domestic violence arrest in Los Angeles. He was charged with a felony of domestic violence and later stepped away from the band. Previously, in 2016, he was arrested for cocaine possession, which was later resolved with a community service plea deal.
What’s next for Mickey Madden?
Catherine’s restraining order will be reviewed again in court on August 20, 2025, where she will reportedly be requesting it to be made permanent. She will also press for finacial support and legal custody of their dogs, Toast and Jam. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed related to the allegations against him. Mickey Madden, who is reportedly currently in rehab, has not publicly responded to these allegations either.
