Shiny Doshi is one of the most popular actresses in the Hindi television industry. With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saraswatichandra, Shiny made her debut in 2013. Since then, she appeared in many television soap operas, including Sarojini – Ek Nayi Pehal, Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, Jamai Raja, Laal Ishq and Pandya Store. However, the actress became emotional and broke down in a recent interview sharing her strained bond with her father.
Shiny Doshi opens up about her bond with her late father
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shiny became emotional while opening up about her bond with her late father. The actress shared that there was an uneasiness between her and her father. Shiny also mentioned as her father left her mother and brother, she was forced to earn money early to help her family survive. Shiny also recalled that once, her father called her a ‘prostitute’ when she was just 16 years old. The actress also broke down in the interview, recalling the bitter moments she had with her father. Talking about the uneasy connection she had with her father, Shiny said:
“My father used to call me prostitute. Meri print shoots Ahmedabad mein kaafi late chalti thi — kabhi kabhi 2 ya 3 baje raat ko pack-up hota tha. Mumma har shoot mein mere saath hoti thi, tab main sirf 16 saal ki thi. Aur jab hum ghar aate the, toh aisa nahi tha ki woh poochhte, ‘Tum theek ho? Safe ho?’ Woh kharab words bolte the — jaise, ‘Raat ke 3 baje tak beti ko le jaa rahi ho? Dhandha karwa rahi ho kya? He had a bad language.”
Shiny Doshi revealed that she and her father were not on talking terms for two years
Further in the interview, Shiny was asked whether she had forgiven her father for not treating her well. Following the question, the actress got emotional and said that there is no presence of any fatherly figure in her life. Shiny also mentioned that there were some traumatic moments that left a lasting mark on her life. Speaking of the same, Shiny said:
“These are certain knots in life you can’t untie. Maine isse life ke lessons seekha, lekin aaj bhi kabhi kabhi bohot weak mehsoos karti hoon — kyunki mere life mein koi fatherly figure nahi, who is backing me up.”
Shiny also revealed that she and her dad were not on talking terms for two years before the latter passed away. Shiny’s father left for the heavenly abode in 2019, when he was on the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir. The actress shared that now she feels guilty for not talking to his father during the last days of his life.
Shiny Doshi’s personal life
Shiny was born on September 15, 1989, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She completed her fashion design course at the National Institute of Fashion Design. Before starting her acting career, Shiny was a model. Shiny tied the knot with Lavesh Khairajani on July 15, 2021. The couple had an intimate wedding. Previously, Shiny had a relationship with Mausam Patel. Mausam was also from the same industry. The duo shared a nice bond. In fact, Mausam was reportedly quite supportive, and the couple was planning to get married. But destiny had some other plans. Now, Shiny is happily married to Lavesh.
