Days after Michael Jordan’s upcoming Trunner O/S “dad shoe” surfaced in a “Black Cat” colorway, official product 2025 product shots of the all-black sneaker that started the theme have surfaced.

Early images from retailer JD Sports UK shows the upcoming Air Jordan 4 Retro Black Cat in all of its glory. These are the first official images to emerge of the hotly anticipated release after leaked images previously made the rounds. Based on the latest shots, the upcoming reissue is a close re-creation of the sneaker’s 2006 and 2020 iterations, but it does include a few small differences.

Longtime fans of the Air Jordan 4 will be pleased to know the ’25 version features an improved shape which more closely resembles the original 1989 version of the model. The silhouette of the model was reworked beginning with 2023’s Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 Pine Green release. For the most part, sneaker enthusiasts have been receptive to the updates.

Another tweak that can’t go unmentioned is the heel branding, which for the first time ever on this style replaces the Jumpman logo with an OG-styled Nike Air. This is a change that may prove polarizing to some; it doesn’t match the ’06 and ’20 versions of the Black Cat Air Jordan 4, but is instead more in line with the original colorways released during the model’s debut ’89 run. Either way, given the popularity of the Black Cat look, it’s unlikely this will be a deal breaker for many fans.

The Black Cat concept was first introduced on the Air Jordan 4 with the ’06 release. Other popular models to use the theme include the Air Jordan 3, which was rereleased in January. However, the Air Jordan 4 has been the most coveted version, especially post-pandemic following the ’20 reissue.

Keeping true to the Black Cat name, this Air Jordan 4 Retro is slated to arrive on Nov. 28, which is Black Friday, for a retail price of $225. The pair has a full colorway of Black/Black/Light Graphite and its style code is FV5029-010. Readers can expect availability from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers.
