Quinta Brunson leaned into one of the summer’s most visible shoe trends on Saturday at Comic-Con 2025: mesh heels.

The “Abbott Elementary” creator arrived at Variety’s Comic-Con Studio Presented by Google TV in a pair of Paris Texas Lidia mules, featuring blush pink mesh and tonal patent leather in the brand’s “Texas Rose” colorway. The slip-on silhouette wrapped the vamp in two intersecting straps — one in glossy patent, the other in a fine open mesh — creating a contrast of texture while maintaining tonal cohesion. A barely-there footbed gave way to a sharp stiletto, curving inward under the heel and adding height without heaviness.

Brunson styled the mesh mules with a strapless maroon jumpsuit featuring a balloon hem and cinched waist, keeping her hair sleek and accessories minimal.

While she’s long favored pointed pumps — especially from Christian Louboutin — Brunson’s Comic-Con look marks a step into lighter, more trend-forward silhouettes. Earlier this year, she wore crystal-embellished PVC Louboutin heels on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and a chocolate leather pair for an “Abbott Elementary” FYC event. Each offered structure and shine, but the Lidia mules add a new kind of balance: less overtly polished, more textural and open.

Paris Texas’ Lidia styles have become a summer mainstay among celebrities embracing mesh and translucence. Emily Ratajkowski wore black patent Lidia mules multiple times in New York last month, while Miley Cyrus chose the slingback version in ivory for the Tribeca premiere of “Something Beautiful.” The brand offers the style in multiple heel heights, with Brunson opting for the highest — a 105mm stiletto — consistent with her past preferences.

With mesh detailing turning up across both heels and flats this season, Brunson’s footwear choice aligns her with the broader shift toward open-work styling. Designers like Amina Muaddi, Alaïa, and Aquazzura have all introduced mesh hybrids in recent collections, emphasizing ventilation and visual lightness.
