Adorned with soft white and pastel-coloured balloons, the space radiated joy as the couple performed a traditional naming ritual. In a touching moment, baby Veda was gently swung in a traditional cloth — a custom that symbolically welcomes the child into the family and community.
Captioning the reel, the couple wrote, “Holi joli peepal paan… ben ehh paadyu VEDA naam”. The charming Gujarati rhyme loosely translates to the playful chant used when a baby’s name is joyfully revealed during the ceremony. The announcement drew warm reactions from fans and friends alike. Actor Bobby Deol dropped heart emojis in the comments, echoing the love pouring in from across social media.
Vatsal Sheth and Ishita Dutta, who first met on the sets of the TV show Baazigar (Life OK), tied the knot in 2017 in a private ceremony. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Vaayu, in July 2023. Just a year later, on June 10, 2024, they embraced parenthood once again with the birth of their daughter.
While the couple has kept their children largely away from the media spotlight, this sweet announcement offered a rare and tender glimpse into their family life. With the name Veda, which signifies sacred knowledge and wisdom in Sanskrit, the couple has beautifully honored tradition while adding another meaningful chapter to their growing family’s story.
