Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are reportedly beefing up security for their wedding after plans for the special day leaked earlier this month.
Since the nuptial plans were revealed, Gomez’s main concern has been the safety and security of her A-list guests.
“Security for Selena’s wedding will be of the utmost importance because not only is she a public figure, many of the guests will be too,” an insider told the Daily Mail Friday.
To ensure privacy, the singer, 33, is also considering implementing a no-phones policy amongst all guests.
“She is going back and forth on whether or not to allow people to have their phones as an extra measure of security and privacy, along with the fact that she wants everyone to be present,” the insider added.
According to another source, extra security is being employed because the “fuming” couple can’t push back their wedding date due to their busy schedules.
“If it wasn’t just two months away they’d think about changing the celebrations, but that’s an impossible task and they don’t want to delay the wedding and find a new location,” another source told the outlet.
“Instead, they’re doubling up on security to make the event as private as possible.”
Page Six has reached out to reps for both Gomez and Blanco but did not immediately hear back.
The pair’s wedding plans were leaked on July 14 — including the guest list, date and location.
The “Bad Liar” singer and the music producer, 37, will allegedly say “I do” in a star-studded ceremony this September in California, according to the Daily Mail.
“Selena and Benny’s wedding is going to be a two-day event in Montecito in September,” a source told the outlet at the time.
Invitations for the intimate ceremony have reportedly already been sent out to the couple’s closest friends and family.
“Everyone invited has been asked to bring overnight bags to stay for the weekend,” the insider shared.
“Although it’s for friends and family only, many on the friends list are huge celebrities, including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Selena’s co-stars from ‘Only Murders In The Building,’ and music superstars who are Benny’s friends and some he’s also worked with.”
A second source told the outlet that a September wedding was “ideal” for the actress and the record exec because the former’s schedule will ramp up by the fall. Season 5 of her Hulu series, “Only Murders in the Building,” premieres on September 9.
“At the end of the year, it gets busy, not only for them, but also for everyone they want to attend,” the source added.
Despite rumors that Gomez had trouble working her wedding around Swift’s busy schedule, a third insider told the Daily Mail that “Selena is not having her wedding to accommodate Taylor, but she wants her to attend and she would love for her to be able to go with Travis.”
Earlier this month, before details of their wedding were leaked, Blanco teased the timeline of the nuptials but claimed that they hadn’t even started planning it yet.
“We’re both working on so many things that we hadn’t even had time to get into it, but we’re so excited,” he told Jake Shane on the July 10 episode of the “Therapuss” podcast.
“I think this summer, we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘OK, what are we doing?’”
The songwriter did insist, however, that the ceremony would be “chill” but “amazing.”
Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement in December 2024 after more than a year of dating.
“forever begins now,” the “Emilia Pérez” star captioned a carousel of photos at the time, showing off her custom designed ring.
