Nandamuri Balakrishna is one of the most popular actors in Telugu film industry. Notably, his fans call him ‘Balakrishna’ and ‘Balayya’. Now, Nandamuri is all set to appear in a cameo role in Rajinikanth starrer, Jailer 2. However, do you know how much the actor is charging for his role? Nandamuri Balakrishna’s whopping paycheck for the film, Jailer 2
In Jailer 2, along with Nandamuri, actor, Shiva Rajkumar is also featured in a cameo role. Nandamuri, who is scheduled to shoot for 20 days, Jailer 2, is reportedly charging in crore. As per the IndiaGlitz report, sources close to the Jailer 2 team disclosed that Nandamuri Balakrishna had been allotted a 20-day schedule to shoot for the movie. The actor asked the film producer, Kalanithi Maran, to pay him Rs. 50 crore for the schedule. The producer reportedly had agreed to the whopping amount.
Jailer 2 director, Nelson Dilipkumar reportedly wanted to cast Nandamuri Balakrishna in Jailer
Back in 2023, Jailer director, Nelson revealed in an interview with Cinema Vikatan that he wanted to cast Nandamuri in his the-then upcoming film, Jailer. However, the director couldn’t fit in Balakrishna’s character in Jailer and thus was dropped out. Addressing the same, Nelson said:
“Balakrishna sir was in my mind, but I could not design and fit his character into the script properly. That’s why I dropped it. I feel that in Jailer 2, if Balakrishna does the role I have in mind, it will be powerful.”
Later, a source close to the Jailer 2 team confirmed Nandamuri Balakrishna’s presence in the sequel. The source revealed that Balakrishna liked his character after the director, Nelson, narrated the script to him. Confirming the news, the source said:
“It is true that NBK has said yes to a powerful role in Jailer 2. He loved what Nelson pitched to him and looks forward to shooting for the film soon. He plays more of a guest role in the film than a cameo because he wanted something solid, and Nelson delivered. Fans are going to love it.”
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s professional achievements
Born on June 10, 1960, Nandamuri Balakrishna, is the son of late actor and politician, NT Rama Rao, who served three terms as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Nandamuri was the sixth son of NT Rama Rao and Basava Rama Tarakam. The actor has 7 brothers and 4 sisters. Following his father’s acting footsteps, Balakrishna made his debut as a child actor with the film, Tatamma Kala in 1974. Nandamuri was just 14 years old back then.
The actor made his presence in many films, including Annadammula Anubandham, Vemulawada Bheemakavi, Daana Veera Soora Karna, Akbar Saleem Anarkali, Shrimad Virata Parvam and Rowdy Ramudu Kinte Krishnudu. Some of the highest-grossing films that featured Nandamuri are Daaku Maharaaj, Veera Simha Reddy, Akhanda, Bhagavanth Kesari and Legend. Now, coming to his personal front, Nandamuri tied the knot with Vasundhara Devi, back in 1982. The couple welcomed three children, Nara Brahmani, Tejaswini Nandamuri, and Mokshagna Teja.
