The final season premiere of Squid Game put the Netflix hit back at the top of the U.S. streaming charts — though with smaller numbers than it had for the show’s most recent run.

The final full week of June also brought another record for Love Island USA and the premiere of The Bears fourth season, which like Squid Game opened with lower but still solid viewing figures.

Squid Game racked up 3.2 billion minutes of viewing in the United States for the week of June 23-29; the Korean thriller’s third and final season premiered on June 27. That’s down from 4.92 billion minutes for the week of season two’s premiere in late December, which had an extra day to accumulate viewing time since it debuted on a Thursday rather than a Friday as the final run did (debuting during the holidays probably helped season two some as well). Season three set a three-day, worldwide record in Netflix’s internal figures.

The Bear premiered on Hulu to 917 million viewing minutes, down about 26 percent from 1.23 billion minutes for the week of season three’s debut last year. The FX-produced show still produced the second-highest weekly total for any original show on Hulu in 2025, just behind the 921 million minutes for The Handmaid’s Tale in April.

Love Island USA posted its third straight all-time high in the Nielsen rankings with 1.78 billion minutes of watch time, second overall behind Squid Game. The Peacock show grew by 21 percent week to week. Over the first four weeks of the season, it amassed 5.11 billion minutes of viewing, with adults 18-34 responsible for more than half that total. The Marvel series Ironheart premiered with 624 million minutes for its first three episodes, outdrawing the premiere weeks for recent MCU series Agatha All Along and Daredevil: Born Again.

Netflix’s animated movie Kpop Demon Hunters moved to the top of the movie charts (and to No. 10 overall) in its second week, scoring 778 million viewing minutes. A Minecraft Movie (699 million) also grew substantially in its second week on Max.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. The top streaming titles for June 23-29, 2025, are below.
