Versant, Comcast’s spinoff of its brands including MSNBC, CNBC and more, has announced its intended board appointments.

The company had previously announced that David Novak, a board member of Comcast and former CEO of Yum! Brands, will serve as chairman. Once the spinoff is complete, Comcast intends to form a 10-person board, including Mark Lazarus, who has been named CEO of Versant, as well as names across media, technology and finance.

Planned appointees include: Rebecca Campbell, the former chairman of international content and operations at The Walt Disney Company, who is now the interim CEO of the immersive experience Meow Wolf; Creighton Condon, who is of counsel at the global law firm A&O Shearman; Michael Conway, former CEO of Starbucks North America and a former Johnson & Johnson executive, David Eun, founding advisor to Kanza AI, a generative AI company focused on health, wellness and medicine; Gerald L. Hassell, former chairman and CEO of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation; Scott Mahoney, chairman and CEO of golf apparel company Peter Millar LLC; Maritza Montiel, former deputy CEO and vice chairman of Deloitte & Touche LLP’s U.S. Business and Len Potter, president and founder of registered investment advisor Wildcat Capital Management.

In addition to CNBC and MSNBC, the Versant brands will include USA Network, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, Golf Channel, Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and SportsEngine.

“I am pleased to welcome this accomplished forward-looking team to our future Board of Directors,” Novak said. “Their collective expertise and perspectives will strengthen our governance and support Versant’s future success.”

“The announcement of the future Board marks a critical milestone as we define our long-term strategy and advance the value of our iconic media portfolio,” Lazarus said. “I look forward to collaborating with this distinguished group as we establish a leading independent media company.”
