‘Don 3’, one of the most high-profile upcoming projects in Bollywood, is gearing up for a significant reboot of the franchise. After Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan’s previous portrayals of the titular role, Ranveer Singh is set to headline the Farhan Akhtar-directorial. The film also marks a new casting update with Kriti Sanon joining the team as the female lead.

Kiara Advani, who was previously attached to the project, opted out of the film due to her pregnancy. Sanon replaces her as the primary lead opposite Singh.

Sources tell India Today that the film will feature a high-energy track in the vein of ‘Aaj Ki Raat,’ the iconic nightclub sequence from ‘Don’ (2006), featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Isha Koppikar. The new track is said to be similarly stylised, combining glamour and narrative tension, with Kriti Sanon and another actor who is yet to be locked.

The team is currently in the process of casting a second prominent actor to appear in the song alongside Kriti. Discussions are reportedly underway with a few actors. While we reached out to Farhan Akhtar, he is yet to offer a comment on the same.

‘Don 3’, produced by Excel Entertainment, is expected to begin later this year. The film has already drawn attention for its casting shifts. The latest we hear is that Vikrant Massey, who was locked to play the villain in the movie, has opted out. Karan Veer Mehra will reportedly take on the said role.

Soon, an official announcement regarding the cast and crew will be made.
