Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have officially confirmed the next installment in their Monsterverse franchise. Titled Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, the upcoming film has now entered production and is set for theatrical release on March 26, 2027.
The announcement follows the commercial success of 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Supernova will be the sixth entry in the blockbuster monster series.
Teaser Reveals Monarch’s Involvement
As reported by Variety, to mark the announcement, a short teaser video was released featuring Monarch, the secretive organisation responsible for tracking giant Titan creatures seen throughout the Monsterverse.
In the teaser, a computer screen inside a Monarch office displays a hotline number, (240) MON-ARCH — a real number fans can call. The automated message thanks callers for reporting Titan activity, stating: “Your help reporting Titan sightings plays a critical role in keeping our world safe.”
Cast Confirmed
Dan Stevens will reprise his role as Trapper and will be joined by a new ensemble cast including Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill. Specific plot details are still under wraps, but production suggests another global showdown involving legendary Titans.
The teaser includes subtle nods to fans. One scene shows a phone call originating from Sedona, Arizona, known as the awakening site of the Titan Scylla in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. That film saw King Ghidorah summoning Titans worldwide in a massive battle with Godzilla. Other playful touches in the teaser include a Godzilla bobblehead and a coffee mug reading “Keep Kong and Carry On” — a humorous twist on the iconic phrase.
