When Himesh Reshammiya spoke about his nasal singing
Earlier this year, in February 2025, Himesh sat for an interview with Pinkvilla and spoke openly about the trolling he received after Aashiq Banaya Apne. He also shared that, although people say it is nasal singing, the hit song was never nasal, but rather a high-pitched one. He expressed that although he received criticism, many also danced to the hit number, Aashiq Banaya Apne. In his words:
“Aaj toh nasal ki baat bhi nahi karahe hain. Many people did nasal singing after me, so many of my songs became hits. Actually, even though I call it nasal singing today, for me, it was never nasal, it was high-pitched singing. It was a cry for help! In the ‘Aashiq Banaya’ video, this guy is actually crying in pain, singing, as well as dancing… One shouldn’t feel bad about criticism. When ‘Aashiq Banaya’ came, there was so much trolling, but the same people were dancing to it in clubs.”
