Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman was recently spotted exhibiting concerning behavior in Hollywood.
In disturbing footage, Allman was seen staring off into the distance while standing outside famed Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont.
The disheveled guitarist wore a gray T-shirt torn at the right shoulder and tattered, low-hanging shorts. He appeared to be sweating profusely as cars passed by him.
Allman stumbled slightly before approaching the hotel’s valet tent and again paused to stare into the distance before shuffling away from the camera.
Detailed photos of the incident showed the disoriented musician holding what appeared to be a cigarette. He also had swollen ankles and wore a single red acrylic fingernail on his right ring finger.
Allman, 48, is the son of the Oscar-winning musical icon and her late husband Gregg Allman.
The “If I Could Turn Back Time” songstress initially attempted to gain temporary sole conservatorship over her son’s affairs in late 2023.
She filed new documents in January 2024, citing alleged “severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”
“Any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk,” she wrote in court documents obtained by Page Six at the time.
The iconic singer added that she felt gaining control over Elijah’s finances would not do “harm” to his finances and expressed concern that his then-wife Marieangela King would attempt to “prevent” Elijah from knowledge of a conservatorship hearing set for the same month.
The “Believe” singer noted in her initial filing that Elijah makes $120,000 a year of his own. Additionally, she noted, he “is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit.”
In September 2024, Cher withdrew her conservatorship request after a grueling nine-month court battle.
“The team successfully defended Elijah, resulting in Cher voluntarily dismissing her petition,” lawyers Avi Levy and Steven Brumer said in a statement to People at the time.
“This outcome allows the parties to focus on healing and rebuilding their family bond, a process that began during mediation and continues today.”
In April, Elijah’s wife of 11 years filed for divorce.
Elijah himself confessed to drug use in a candid 2014 interview. “I started with drugs around the same time that we all did, around eleven,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
“I mean it’s just what you did, it’s just what everybody did.”
He also recalled having “some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality.”
“I always kind of kept it a little bit safe but you never can do that,” he told the outlet at the time. “Even though you think that in your mind, of course the wrong things can happen. The wrong combination of things can happen and you can just slip into the abyss.”
