How did Alyssa Stoddard get involved in the scandal?
Alyssa Stoddard joined Astronomer as the Senior Director of People in January 2025. However, she was wrongly identified online as the ’embarrassed woman’ in the now-viral Coldplay Kiss Cam video. The usually eagle-eyed netizens made a mistake in identifying the woman, as they and amateur internet detectives jumped to conclusions, linking her face and name to the woman seen pulling away from CEO, Andy Byron, mid-embrace.
However, soon after, Astronomer stepped in with a formal statement and clarified the buzz. The company stated that it has initiated an investigation into the matter and expects its leaders to take accountability. They also cleared the speculations and shared that Alyssa Stoddard was not in the video. Additionally, she wasn’t even present at the concert. The part of the statement read:
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter, and we will have additional details to share very shortly. Alyssa Stoddard was not at the even,t and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”
