Che and OsamaSon’s new track “Hellraiser” is freakishly bubbly, the kind of staticky delirium that Jay-Z’s “D.O.A.” tried to warn us about. Set off by CXO’s elastic synths, Che and Osama test their breaking points as if to see whose AutoTune plugins would crash first. The duo’s scratchy chirrups mulling ketamine and Goyard and silicone transpose blurry-eyed debauchery into playground sugar rushes. Otherwise empty phrases (“You countin’ cash quick!/You got yo nails did!”) become ephemeral flashbangs I keep coming back to. Yes, “Hellraiser” is what happens when you give molly and FL to some kids raised on WLR leaks and Cartoon Network. I’m here for it.
