Known for his versatility and intense screen presence, Karan returns to the much-loved espionage thriller Special Ops, reprising his role as the razor-sharp Officer Farooq Ali. Created by Neeraj Pandey, the second season of the web-series continues the gripping saga of RAW agent Himmat Singh (played by Kay Kay Menon) and his trusted team as they navigate high-stakes international operations.
In contrast, Karan also makes his presence felt on the big screen with Tanvi The Great, where he plays Captain Samar Raina, an Indian Army officer. Though it’s an extended cameo, his performance adds gravitas to the emotionally charged drama on autism spectrum that also celebrates courage, sacrifice, and resilience.
Sharing his thoughts on this unique career moment, Karan Tacker said, “So it’s the first time that it is happening in my career that I have two releases on the same day and I don’t know how to receive this but I’m extremely nervous and anxious because they are such two contrasting roles, they are two contrasting platforms. One is a film; one is on OTT (JioHotstar). While I’m excited that the audience has not seen me in a year and half so they get to see a lot more of me but at the same time the reaction of everyone is just keeping me on toes and giving me a lot of sleepless nights. So, here’s to feeling a lot of gratitude and yeah can’t wait.”
