    Letter seeking Odisha victim’s suspension emerges, friend says bid to silence

    A letter written by a group of students to the principal of Odisha’s Fakir Mohan College demanded the suspension of the victim who set herself on fire after accusing a professor of sexual harassment. The 22-year-old student succumbed to her injuries earlier this week.

    The letter, accessed by India Today, was written on July 1 by a group of 71 students who were mobilised by the accused professor, Sameer Ranjan Sahoo. Sahoo, who has been arrested along with the principal, headed the Integrated B.Ed department.
