Popular TV actress, Dipika Kakar, in May 2025 underwent a 14-surgery after she was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. She had a tennis ball-sized tumour in her liver, which was removed successfully. The actress has undergone mammography tests after lymph nodes were enlarged in her left breast tissue. She has been undergoing target therapy, which may go on for two years. The actress has been on a healing journey, and her family has been her biggest pillar of support. Now, many of her fans have been asking about whether her dad visited the actress during surgery, and she expressed it all.
Dipika Kakar gives a rare glimpse of her dad visiting her home
Dipika posted a new video on her YouTube and answered her fans’ queries related to whether her dad visited her post she underwent surgery. Dipika posted an emotional video with her dad, who paid her a visit, and both of them were seen sitting on the sofa, immersed in an emotional conversation. She shared that her dad came to see her in the hospital and also at home. As she was not in the best of her health, she could not shoot any vlog with her father. Dipika shared that her dad had got apples for his grandson, Ruhaan and told Dipika of losing weight. The daughter-father had a heart-to-heart talk as the actress shared:
“Toh aaj bhi Papa aaye hain, papa actually pehle bhi milne aaye the aur hospital mein bhi aaye the par main uss recovery phase mein thi. So I think meri surgery ke baad aaj pehla din hai jab humne sukoon se aise time spend kiya hai, aur baat cheet ki hai. Hospital mein bhi jab papa aaye the tab bhi unhone kaha tha ke jab tak main usse dekh na loon mujhe tasalli nahi milegi.”
Dipika’s father shares the natural bond he has with his daughter
Dipika’s dad had paid her a visit at home and also met her father-in-law. While the actress made a vlog, she did thank her dad and other family members who have helped her during these challenging times, and her father, being a true hero. Dipika’s dad did call her a brave soul and said that she would overcome the challenges. Dipika revealed that it is because of the blessings of her loved ones, especially her family, that are helping her on this road to recovery. Dipika’s father did praise the strength his daughter carried with her and shared:
“It’s completely natural — the bond between parents and their children is truly special. When a baby cries, a mother can easily understand whether the child is hungry or if their diaper needs changing, just by the way they cry.”

No parent likes to see his or her child in pain. Dipika, in the past, had also shared an emotional clip of her mom after she came back from the hospital. Her mom was seen crying and thanking her fans for their prayers. In her words:
“I thank each one of you with folded hands, it is because of your prayers that my daughter has returned to me. Please continue praying for her. I was very scared to see her like that, but she, Ruhaan, and Shoaib stood strong throughout. As a mother, I plead to you all to keep praying for my daughter.”
