State-level tennis player, Radhika Yadav was brutally shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav. While the father had accepted his crime, people are wondering what made a father kill his own daughter, who was preparing a birthday dinner for her mother. A day that should have been filled with laughter turned into pain, agony and cries. Amidst it, a lot of reports claim that it was a matter of the father’s pride, as there was a ‘Love Jihad’ involvement. Now, Radhika Yadav’s best friend came forward to reveal the truth about the whole matter.

After two days of Radhika’s funeral, her best friend, Himanshika Singh, took to her Instagram handle and posted a video talking about the matter. Himanshika revealed that Radhika was her best friend, and they had known each other for the past 8-10 years. They would share everything with each other, and she lost her. She said:
“Media mein bahut baate suni hogi, but mai batati hoon Radhika Yadav ki sachai. Mera naam Himanshika Singh hai aur Radhika Yadav meri best friend thi. Hum pichle 8-10 saal se bahut jada close the. And I just lost her. Mujhe laga nahi tha ki mai is cheej ke baare mein itni jaldi baat karugi but mere pass or koi choice nahi hai. Kal hi mai uski body dekh kar aayi hoon. Is video ka sole purpose yahi hai ki tum sab jaan pao ki Radhika kon thi.”
Himanshika further stated how Radhika was an international-level tennis player and had been pursuing tennis for the past 18 years. She talked about her viral commercial video with the actor, Inam-ul-Haq, and how her father was the one who had dropped her off for the shoot. She stated that Radhika’s other shoots were lined up, but she cancelled them due to her family. Himanshika shared:
“Vo jo commercial video uski chal rahi hai, vo bas ek normal music video thi. Jo usne I guess 1-1.5 saal pehle shoot kari thi and uske khud ke father ne usko drop kara tha. Uske alwa uske kafi jada shoot the, par dheere-dheere karke vo sab cheeje band hogyi because uske parents bahut jada aise the ki log kya kahege, unke pass humesha societal pressure bahut jada tha or vo humesha se hi orthodox the matlab roka-toki har cheej mein rehti thi.”
Himanshi further added that there is no Love-Jihad angle in Radhika’s murder as there were a lot of restrictions at her home, and she was suffering due to her family. They kept asking her about her every movement, and she couldn’t even talk to her friends over a video call. Himanshi shared:
“Maine usko dekha nahi hai kisi se jada baat karte hue humesha dekha hai vo apne parents ke sath hi rehti hai and love jihad ke baare mein baat ho rahi hai koi kisi ke pass kuch proof kyo nahi hai. Love Jihad, vo kisi se baat bhi nahi karti thi. Uske ghar par itne jada restrictions the. But vo bahut time se apne ghar mein suffer kar rahi thi. Bahut jada ghar par ghutan mehsus hoti thi kyunki aise kon hi rehna chahega her cheej ka explain karte rehna. Kyo kar rahe hai kya kar rahe hai. Kisse baat kar rahe ho. I remember video calls par bhi usko dikhana padta tha ki Himanshika se baat kar rahe hai.”
Himanshika shared that Radhika’s academy was just 15 minutes away from her home, but she still had to come home on time. Himanshika mentioned in her caption that Radhika’s father shot bullets at her five times, and four bullets hit her. She mentioned how he had made her life miserable and kept controlling her. Her father wasn’t able to digest her independence, and shamed her for wearing shorts and talking to boys.
