Even discounting its bad press and its beige-ification of America, HGTV is not the same cable TV offering it was when it debuted as Home, Lawn, and Garden Channel more than three decades ago. Gone are beloved shows like Design on a Dime, Curb Appeal, and Room by Room, and in are countless real estate flipping shows, celebrity-focused renovation shows, and franchise extensions.
And for our money, the shows below are the biggest offenders, the worst HGTV shows we can remember. These offerings aren’t so much “turnkey” as they are “turn off.”
