Travis Kelce hit the green at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course on Thursday for the opening round of the 2025 American Century Championship in Stateline, Nevada in his Sun Day Red best. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end wore the Pioneer Magnolia golf shoes by Tiger Woods‘ brand Sun Day Red, pairing the classic wingtip silhouette with a printed polo and charcoal trousers for his first day on the course.

Kelce’s shoes — the Pioneer Magnolia in White/Silver — combined vintage-inspired broguing with performance-driven construction. The $275 model was designed to offer traditional appeal with modern traction, fit and control. The upper features full grain waterproof leather with pinked edges, a polished toe cap, and wingtip perforations that nod to heritage menswear. The sole is built with EVA foam and a 6 mm drop to keep the foot closer to the ground, while nine TPU cleats provide grip throughout the swing.

It includes two sets of insoles — one with a massaging surface, the other smooth — and a Blucher-style opening that allows the upper to adjust more easily to the foot. It’s a standout in Sun Day Red’s expanding footwear lineup, now reaching green grass shops and high-end golf retailers following the brand’s move beyond its original direct-to-consumer model.

Kelce leaned into a smart-casual golf aesthetic with the rest of his look as well. His outfit featured a sage green printed polo with a micro-motif pattern, tucked into charcoal technical trousers with a tapered leg. A white cap and matching glove rounded out the look.

Kelce is one of dozens of athletes and celebrities competing in the three-day charity golf tournament, which raises funds for local and national nonprofit organizations. The 2025 American Century Championship features a field packed with NFL stars like Josh Allen and George Kittle, NBA names including Stephen Curry and Ray Allen, and entertainers ranging from Carson Daly to Miles Teller — all bringing their game, and in Kelce’s case, a sharp pair of cleats, to the fairway.
