Julian McMahon, the Australian actor best known for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and the Fantastic Four films, has died at the age of 56.

A cremation approval summary issued by the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office in Florida confirmed that McMahon died of lung metastasis due to head and neck metastatic cancer.

Kelly McMahon, the actor’s wife, announced his passing on July 4, stating that her husband died “peacefully after a courageous struggle to beat cancer.”

As reported by CNN, McMahon rose to fame for his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy in the Ryan Murphy drama Nip/Tuck. He also became widely recognised for his role as Cole Turner in the supernatural series Charmed, co-starring Alyssa Milano.

Alyssa Milano expressed her sorrow on social media: “I’m heartbroken. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He lit up a room not just with charisma, but with kindness, mischief, and soulful understanding.”

Milano also reflected on their bond, noting that although they had their differences, they always understood each other.

Actor Ioan Gruffudd, who played Mister Fantastic opposite McMahon’s Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four, shared his tribute on Instagram: “Although we played each other’s arch-enemies, there was always so much lightness and laughter on set. Every moment with him was a pleasure.”
