Maalik is set to release in cinemas on July 11, 2025, and has been generating growing anticipation since the trailer launched. The film marks the theatrical debut of director Pulkit, known for his work on gripping thrillers. It is jointly produced by Kumar Taurani’s Tips Films and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films.
The film marks a notable transformation for Rao, known for his versatility. For his role in Maalik, the actor grew out his beard for over 80 days to achieve a raw, rugged appearance. Director Pulkit shared that this visual transformation was a key part of bringing the gritty character to life.
Maalik boasts a strong ensemble cast alongside Rajkummar Rao, including Manushi Chhillar, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saurabh Shukla, Saurabh Sachdeva, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Swanand Kirkire.
