    IAF Pilot Lokender’s Last Rites: Wife Cries, Saying ‘Proud Of You’, Their Infant Joins Dad’s Funeral

    The year 2025 has become a dark time for the Indian Aviation Industry. After the massive incident of the Air India plane crash, it was on July 10, 2025, when India lost two of its bravest soldiers, 44-year-old Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh Sindhu, and 23-year-old Flight Lieutenant Rishiraj Singh Devda. Rishiraj and Lokendra passed away after the tragic crash of the Indian Air Force’s Jaguar fighter jet in Churu, Rajasthan. Lokendra had just welcomed his son a month back, and one can only imagine how tragically heartbreaking his passing is for his family. Recently, glimpses from his funeral made rounds on social media, and it broke hearts.

    On July 11, 2025, Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh Sindhu was laid to rest. He was accorded full military honours, and he was brought to his residence by being wrapped in the tricolour. A 21-gun salute paid tribute to Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh Sindhu for his contribution to the nation. Some glimpses from his last rites made rounds, wherein his wife and mom could be seen tearing up.

    In a glimpse, Lokendra’s wife paid him the last respect, and with tears in her eyes, she bid him farewell by stating, ‘I am proud of you’. For the unversed, Lokendra became a dad to a baby boy on June 10, 2025, and just in one month, he passed away. In one of the glimpses, we could also see the infant arriving at his dad’s last rites, and it was a simply heartbreaking sight to witness.

    More about the Jaguar fighter jet crash

    Since March 2025, it’s the third time that this type of aircraft has crashed. The first one took place on March 7, 2025, but it didn’t claim any lives. Later, another Jaguar crash took one pilot’s life during the training mission.

    The recent incident took place on July 10, 2025, when, during a routine training flight from Suratgarh, a two-seater Jaguar crashed in a field near Bhanoda, Churu, Rajasthan. Eyewitnesses revealed that both the pilots, Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh Sindhu and Flight Lieutenant Rishiraj Singh Devda, steered the crashing jet away from populated areas, thereby attempting to save them. However, both of them couldn’t survive and passed away.

    Talking about the IAF pilot, Lokendra Singh Sindhu, he hailed from Rohtak district in Haryana. According to a report by TOI, Lokendra got married during COVID-19, and it was only a month ago that he welcomed his baby boy into his life. His wife has been in her parental home in Hisar since the time she gave birth and returned after the heartbreaking news of her husband’s passing. Lokendra had been serving the nation since 2016. He completed his NDA and was commissioned into the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot. Since his childhood, Lokendra wanted to serve the nation, and he was a brilliant individual since his childhood, as reported by his relatives.
