In July 2024, Sheikha Mahra shocked the world when she announced her divorce from her husband, Mana Al Maktoum, on Instagram. Following the Islamic practice of ‘triple talaq’, Sheikha shared a picture post and wrote, ‘I divorce you’ three times. Her note could be read as:
“Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”
