Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh, is a highly anticipated project directed by Farhan Akhtar. Except for the male lead, all other information regarding the film is tightly kept under wraps. However, reports suggest that since the public is unhappy with Ranveer stepping into Shah Rukh Khan’s shoes, Farhan has approached the latter to star in the film. Rumours are also rife that Priyanka Chopra, who played the iconic role of ‘Roma’, might make a comeback too.
Shah Rukh Khan is reported to star in Don 3
Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman had been the iconic ‘Don and Roma’ for decades after the release of the blockbuster 1978 film, Don. However, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra gave them a run for their money with their sizzling on-screen chemistry and rumoured off-screen romance in Don and Don 2, directed by Farhan Akhtar. However, the pair was reported to be absent from the upcoming Don 3, where Ranveer Singh replaced Shah Rukh, and Kiara Advani might be seen instead of Priyanka.
An India Today report has stated that Farhan Akhtar has approached Shah Rukh Khan to play a role in Don 3. A source close to the portal stated that, despite the actor’s busy schedule with the mega film project, King, he has agreed to play a role due to his friendship with Farhan. Reportedly, the director narrated to Shah Rukh the character that he had been approached to play. The source revealed:
“Not much is known about the part. However, Farhan Akhtar reportedly reached out to SRK, and narrated the character and the story around him. While the superstar is busy with King at the moment, given their close association, he’s agreed to do it.”
Priyanka Chopra might be seen in Don 3
Though the film franchise is called Don and the story mostly revolves around the titular character, however ‘Don’s story is incomplete without ‘Roma’. And if Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly making an appearance in Don 3, then Priyanka also has to follow with her own comeback in the franchise. A Bollywood Hungama report has stated that the actress may also appear in Don 3. However, there have been rumours that after Priyanka and Shah Rukh Khan’s alleged affair on the sets of Don, the actress has been prohibited by SRK’s wife, Gauri, from ever working with the latter ever again. So, even if the rumoured ex-couple star in Don 3, it will be interesting to see if they share the screen.
Delays in the schedule of Don 3 reported
As per the same report, Don 3‘s schedule has been delayed due to the massive trolling Ranveer Singh faced after Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment announced that he would be the new ‘Don’. The actor also had to go through intense MMA training to prepare for the role. Kiara Advani had reportedly been signed for the role of ‘Roma’, replacing Priyanka. However, the film team had to halt operations again as Kiara embraced motherhood. Amidst all this, Farhan Akhtar is wrapping up the shoot of the upcoming film 120 Bahadur, where he is playing the lead. Hence, the producer and director of Don 3 is busy with his own acting endeavours currently.
