Exclusive | Is Ewan McGregor leaving the US for good? Star’s 18th century mansion purchase raises question

Is Ewan McGregor the actor moving back home for good?

A clue comes from an unlikely source.

The “Star Wars” great — who has lived in Los Angeles for years, but recently bought a place in his native Scotland — is selling one of his beloved Moto Guzzi motorcycles, and the listing casually mentions: “A major move has led Ewan to simplify his vintage car and bike collection, so he’s selling some of his toys.”

Ewan McGregor may be on the move back to his native Scotland.

Given that the “Trainspotting” actor famously adores motors — especially his Moto Guzzi bikes — the gut-wrenching sell-off of his Cali-based collection may suggest that he doesn’t intend to be flying back-and-forth across the Pond any longer.

In 2023, McGregor bought the 18th century Carse of Gowrie mansion about 30 minutes from where he grew up in Perth, Scotland.

And it seems as if he plans for it to be more than a vacation home.

The bike is a restored 1970s V7 Sport, which is listed on eBay Motors for a fairly whopping $46,000.

The “Star Wars” great has resided in Los Angeles, California, but recently bought a home around 30 minutes away from where he grew up. Ebay

He also reportedly has several other Guzzis, as well as an “Indian Larry” chopper, a custom electric Harley Davidson that featured in his “Long Way Up” motorcycle adventure series, and an ancient BSA Bantam.

The listing says, “This restoration was commissioned by Ewan and completed by Cycle Garden in 2010. A major move has led Ewan to simplifying his vintage car and bike collection, so he is selling some of his toys.”

Apparently the bike needed to be repaired after McGregor loaned it to the manufacturer for a commercial.

“The motor was rebuilt in 2022 after a stuntman rev’d the hell out of the motor during a commercial shoot,” it says.

A rep for McGregor didn’t get back to us.
