Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman said Elon Musk’s support to Donald Trump is a concern for the Democrats as some people see Elon Musk as Marvel character Tony Stark. Democrats made light of Elon Musk but they do it at their own peril, the Democrat leader said. “I mean, Musk is incredibly successful, and, you know, I think some people would see him as, like, a Tony Stark.Democrats, you know, kind of make light of it, or they make fun of him jumping up and down and things like that. And I would just say that they are doing that at our peril,” Fetterman told the New York Post.
Elon Musk has gone all out for supporting Donald Trump and will be a part of the Trump administration if the former president in back to the White House. Soon after the first assassination attempt of Donald Trump in Butler in July, Elon Musk announced his endorsement for Trump. As Donald Trump returned to Butler first time after the assassination attempt, he had Elon Musk with him and now Elon Musk is holding solo events in support of Donald Trump.
Elon Musk has given nearly $75 million to America PAC, the Super PAC (political action committee) that he created earlier this year largely to back Donald Trump.
Fetterman said the Elon Musk factor is a concern in Pennsylvania, a key swing state, which picks the president. “Trump has a connection that’s undeniable. And anyone that spends any time across Pennsylvania can see that kind of devotion and that’s why it’s going to be very close,” Fetterman said.
Fetterman said Elon Musk is an attractive surrogate to a demographic in Pennsylvania that Democrats need to have in order to win in November.
“In the business, a lot of surrogates really doesn’t count for much. But Musk, it’s undeniable that he’s successful. He’s the world’s richest man, and he’s been involved in a lot of important things, like SpaceX, or AI, and those things. And he has — he has a brand, and that’s attractive to a demographic that we need to have, to win in Pennsylvania. And it’s not even about his checkbook,” Fetterman said on CNN.
