Abhishek Bachchan is back in the spotlight with his latest film, Kaalidhar Laapata, earning widespread praise from fans and industry peers alike. The actor, who recently completed 25 years in Hindi cinema, has received glowing reviews since the film’s ZEE5 premiere on July 4, 2025. However, despite his successful film career, fans have observed his limited presence on social media, especially his silence regarding his family, including wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya, which has sparked ongoing speculation. Now, Abhishek has finally addressed why he rarely expresses himself online.

Abhishek Bachchan breaks his silence on stepping back from social media

In a candid conversation with ETimes, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about his lack of social media presence these days. The Ludo actor revealed that he has intentionally stepped back from expressing himself online, and now he mostly uses social media for updates on his professional front. He shared:

“I don’t express much off-screen. I express on screen. Do you want to know how I feel? Go watch my movie. I don’t want to know what actors are like when they’re not acting. I genuinely don’t. I’m not interested. I’m interested in what they’re doing on screen. Don’t shatter that illusion for me.”

Abhishek described the current social media scene as a heated space for baiting, where one can no longer have a healthy discussion. Talking about why his online activity has reduced, the Kaalidhar Laapata star didn’t hold back as he agreed that these platforms, which were once meant for connection and dialogue, have devolved into negativity and noise. He was quoted as saying:

“Partially yes, and also I feel currently, sadly, and I’m the first person who used to say if you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen, but I just feel a lot of social media is just about baiting. It’s not a place where you can have a healthy discussion. When it first started, you could have a healthy debate or discourse with somebody. Now it’s not that. I use it more professionally now.”

Abhishek Bachchan prioritises peace of mind over public criticism off-screen

In an earlier interview with Instant Bollywood, Abhishek shared his personal mantra of keeping his work outside when he finally goes back home to his bed. According to the actor, the atmosphere at home keeps him grounded, thanks to his Jaya Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He said:

“I think the trick is to go home to a happy and healthy family. Aap jab apne ghar jaate ho joh ek mahol hai woh filmy mahol nai hota hai. Filmo ke alava dher saari baatein hoti hai. That is a safe space, and one thing is for sure, first my mother, now my wife, they do not allow that outside world to come in. Unhone hamesha kaha hai joh ghar ke bheetar hai, it is sacred and you are in a safe space.”
