Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday called upon Congress leaders and party workers to intensify efforts to secure a second consecutive term in the 2029 Assembly elections.
Speaking at the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) extended executive meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress would continue ruling the state for the next ten years.
Addressing party office-bearers and grassroots leaders, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of political positions within the party, stating that they bring not only respect but also a platform for growth. He said that many youth leaders from the Youth Congress, NSUI, and district-level party wings had already been given responsibilities in the current government, and more opportunities would be extended in the future.
Reddy said Telangana has set an example for the rest of the country by compelling the central government to conduct a caste census. He added that developments such as the upcoming delimitation of Assembly and Parliament constituencies, women’s reservation, and potential implementation of ‘one nation, one election’ would reshape the political landscape in the coming years.
“The 2029 elections will be a major platform for new leadership. Everyone should start preparing now, working towards becoming strong and effective leaders,” Reddy said. He also urged party workers to focus on grassroots outreach by visiting villages and ensuring that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every household.
Reddy said the Congress government had already delivered visible results in education and employment within a short span of time and emphasized that coordinated work between the government and the party would be key to retaining power.
He praised AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, describing him as an inspiration for party workers across the country due to his consistent electoral success. Reddy assured that the Congress would reward dedication with suitable roles, adding that he himself enrolled 45 lakh active members during his tenure as TPCC president.
