It’s almost the Fourth of July, and with the long holiday weekend comes a perfect opportunity to drink ever so slightly too much at a barbecue, get maxed out on interpersonal interaction, and retire to your room to watch a whole bunch of TV and/or movies. Luckily, there’s no shortage of onscreen fare to distract yourself with this Independence Day; below, find a roundup of everything you should be watching—from a brand-new documentary digging into the feminist legacy of Ms. magazine to an annual hot-dog eating contest on Coney Island that’s as American as, well…getting apple pie after too many hot dogs?
Tour de France: Unchained (Netflix)
The third (and, sadly, final) season of this always-gripping deep dive into the world of men’s professional cycling is out now on Netflix, and while even eight 40-minute episodes can’t quite do justice to the staggering feat that was the Tour de France 2024, it’s fun to revisit Tadej Pogačar’s victory and take in the majestic views of French hillsides.
How to watch: Stream on Netflix.
