NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders on Thursday demanded a public apology from chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP leaders, and deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde after a Mumbai Police special investigation team (SIT) ruled out foul play in the Disha Salian death case.“Now, Fadnavis should apologise (to Aaditya Thackeray). Nitesh Rane, Devendra Fadnavis, other BJP leaders, Eknath Shinde, all of them should apologise to Shiv Sena (UBT) and Aaditya Thackeray,” Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut told media persons, according to news agency ANI.Sena (UBT) is an MVA constituent, along with the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar). The BJP and its allies attempted to take political advantage by associating Disha Salian’s name with Aaditya Thackeray… For political gain, these leaders tried to use the name of a person who is no more,” Pawar said.Earlier, the SIT, informed Bombay high court that no evidence of foul play was found in the case.Salian allegedly jumped from the 12th floor of a Malad building on June 9, 2020. She was a former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Bandra apartment five days later, on June 14.In March this year, the Central Bureau of Investigationfiled its closure report in the Rajput case. The agency dismissed his family’s claim that the actor was “poisoned and strangled.”
