Karan Johar’s movie, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released back in 2023. The film was made on a budget of Rs. 160 crore, with additional Rs. 18 crore spent on marketing. The movie marked Karan Johar’s return after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and it became the 10th highest-grossing Indian Film of that year, while grossing Rs. 355 crore worldwide. Recently, one of the actors of the movie, Anjali opened up about her experience of working on the sets and also revealed being slapped 17 times.

Anjali Anand played the role of ‘Golu’ in the movie. She acted as Ranveer Singh’s on-screen sister. Recently, Anjali sat for an interview with Filmfare, wherein she revealed that she had to shoot for two sequences in one day. The actress had to do a singing shoot, which took a lot of time, and following this, she had to showcase her character being in a confrontation mode, something which Anjali has been doing for years.
Anjali said that she didn’t want to rush the second scene, as it was something that she wanted to do perfectly. Anjali revealed that she wouldn’t be able to sleep in her entire life if she hadn’t done the scene perfectly, because it’s her forte, and when someone like Karan Johar was directing, then she really had to do it without a single error. However, Anjali nailed the scene within 2 takes. Anjali further added that Jaya Bachchan slapped her 17 times during the shoot, which was a part of it. The actress laughed it off and mentioned that the veteran actress said she was not able to connect, and for the same, she had to slap her 17 times. She further mentioned that Jaya was really sweet and she was her best friend on the set.

In the same interview, Anjali Anand revealed being complimented by Ranveer Singh. She shared that after the shot was done, Ranveer Singh came up to her and told her that every actor has their ‘gold scene’ in a movie, and this particular scene was Anjali’s ‘gold platinum’ scene. Anjali shared that when someone like Ranveer says something like this, then it’s beyond words about how it felt.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Anjali Anand talked about the cast of RARKPK. The actress mentioned that Jaya Bachchan is nothing like she is portrayed. Anjali called Jaya the sweetest human being and mentioned that the veteran actress is really fun to be around. Anjali shared that Jaya is like a kid, who loves to do masti. Anjali mentioned that Jaya played the role of her grandmother and took care of her like a grandmom by feeding her. Anjali could be quoted as saying:
“Jaya Bachchan is nothing like how she is portrayed. She is the sweetest human on the planet, she is so much fun to be around. She’s like this little child who loves to do masti, and yeah, we had a very good bond while shooting. She was playing my grandmother and she took care of me like a grandmother. She fed me, she took care of me, and she was just amazing.”
