For a long time, there has been speculation that Ajay Devgn felt jealous of Shah Rukh Khan, due to SRK’s famed on-screen chemistry with Kajol. However, neither Ajay nor Shah Rukh ever commented on these rumors. In a recent interview, Kajol—well-known for her romantic films with SRK—clarified that there is only respect between Shah Rukh Khan and her husband Ajay Devgn.
Kajol denies rumours of awkwardness between Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan; says, “They truly respect each other”
In a conversation with Times Now, the Maa actor spoke about not belonging to any ‘camps’ in Bollywood. “I don’t know whether there are camps anymore. There weren’t camps, just friends or certain people who have worked with certain people. More than camps, it was a comfort level of whom you’ve worked and not worked with. I didn’t have a camp, I worked with everybody. The camp system eluded me,” she said.
When asked if Ajay Devgn ever felt insecure about her friendship with Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol responded, “Nothing at all, they were pretty much rumours. Genuinely, nothing really happened. They weren’t like ‘Oh buddy, let’s share a beer,’ but today they truly respect each other.”
Kajol also mentioned that she and Ajay Devgn respect each other’s preferences and acknowledge that they don’t need to share the same group of friends. She explained, “There’s no awkwardness, that’s a boundary really. As people, we are individuals. I will like some things, he will not like some things and vice versa. We both decided that that’s fine. As long as I don’t have to sit down and whatever, I am fine, you go ahead, have friends and do whatever you want.”
On the work front, Kajol is set to appear next in Sarzameen, alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan in lead roles. The thriller is scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on July 25.
