MAC is embracing the power of nepo babies.
On May 7, the beloved beauty brand launched a “Born Famous” campaign featuring three Gen Z celebrities who grew up in the spotlight but are now forging their own path in Hollywood.
Celebrating MAC’s new non-sticky gloss, the Lipglass Air ($25), the ad includes Amelia Gray Hamlin, 23, (joined by mom and reality television star Lisa Rinna), Zaya Wade, 17, and Francesca Scorsese, 25.
Shot by fashion photographer Sharna Osborne in Hollywood, California, the new campaign exudes a Y2K vibe with tabloid-inspired imagery, as well as an early aughts wardrobe.
The ad for its new Lipglass Air — the successor to MAC’s Lipglass — reads, “Meet the MAC nepo baby” and includes funny phrases like “Finally, a nepo baby who works as hard as her mother” and “You already love her mother.”
Rinna and Hamlin show off their shiny, glossy pouts in one pic that recalls the catalogues of the past.
In a second snap, the mother-daughter duo pose for the paparazzi, with Hamlin in a white-and-blue printed polo and pink metallic underwear and the former “RHOBH” sporting a pink cropped jacket, beige bodysuit and white sweatpants.
Wade, who is the daughter of former basketball star Dwyane Wade and the step-daughter of actress Gabrielle Union, looks straight out of the early 2000s, wearing a hot pink velour track jacket, coordinating miniskirt, graphic baby tee and choker as she’s carrying MAC bags.
Scorsese, whose videos with dad Martin Scorsese are consistently viral on TikTok, is clad in a bright green top, black bubble miniskirt and black sunglasses.
MAC’s previous ad campaign featuring Martha Stewart, Julia Fox and more stripping down for a new nude lip color recently caused quite a stir, too.
We can’t wait to see what the makeup company does next.
