Pakistan shuts airspace over Lahore, Islamabad airports amid cross-border tensions

In a late-night decision on Wednesday, Pakistan closed its airspace to all commercial flights at Lahore and Islamabad airports, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA). However, Karachi airport remains operational.

“The country’s airspace is closed for all commercial flights at Lahore and Islamabad airports,” said the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) in a statement.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan announced a 48-hour airspace shutdown for all air traffic following India’s military strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
