If you play close attention to her last few albums, you’ll hear that Colombian vocalist Karol G has been edging toward the acoustic space. This week, Anamaria Sayre talks about the singer’s latest album, which pretty much replaces drum machines with congas and bongos for an intentional Pan-Latin approach.

Meanwhile, Felix Contreras finds another example of jazz from South America in the form of Argentine vocalist Roxana Amed reimagining the glory of Argentine rock with creative jazz arrangements.
