A woman died after she was hit by a mini-truck in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area. The incident occurred when the woman was stepping out of a car which reportedly broke down on the side of the road.

According to preliminary information, the woman’s car came to a halt on the side of the busy road due to some technical glitch. After she got out of her case, a small goods carrier, driving at a high speed and veering dangerously from the extreme right side of the road to the left, rammed into her.

The impact was so severe that she was thrown into the air before collapsing on the road. The driver did not stop and fled the scene immediately.

Visuals of the accident, captured on a nearby CCTV camera, showed passersby rushing to help the woman, and another person from the car alighting to run to the victim.

The police have registered a case and are examining the CCTV footage to identify and trace the driver of the mini-lorry. A case of hit-and-run has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and efforts are underway to track down the vehicle and its owner.
