Ram Kapoor reportedly made some s**ually inappropriate comments during the promotion of Mistry, leaving everyone uncomfortable
It was on June 19, 2025, when a media interaction was hosted in JW Marriott, Juhu, for the upcoming comedy drama detective series, Mistry. As per a report by MidDay, Ram, who was seated with the JioHotstar executives and Mona Singh for the interview, made them uncomfortable with his s**ually inappropriate comments. MidDay reported that an insider of JioHotstar revealed that the content and tone of Ram Kapoor’s ‘jokes’ were unprofessional. Giving an instance about what happened, the insider said that Ram had back-to-back interviews that day, and to refer to this, he said he felt like ‘gang r**ed’. The insider revealed:
“The tone and content of his ‘jokes’ were unprofessional. He had back-to-back interviews that day. Referring to the work pressure at one point, he said he feels ‘gang-r**ed’. This remark was made while one journalist was setting up her mic.”
As per the same report, in the evening, Ram Kapoor was interacting with JioHotstar executives and the public relations team, and then, too, he reportedly made some vulgar remarks. An executive mentioned that Ram looked at one of his colleagues and commented on the length of the dress, stating that it was ‘distracting’. The executive said:
“He looked at my colleague’s dress and referring to its length, said, ‘The clothes are distracting.’”
Some other staff member mentioned that the entire team remained shocked by Ram Kapoor’s comments throughout the day, which he pretended was a joke. The member said that it didn’t hit instantly, but later, they recounted the number of offensive things the actor had said throughout the day, while covering it as light humour. As per the member, Ram told one of the male workers that the latter shouldn’t have been born, and for that, his mother should have faked a headache. He allegedly also referred to s** positions. The worker revealed:
“It didn’t hit immediately, but when it did later that evening, we started recounting the number of offensive things he said. He told one of our male colleagues that his mother should have faked a headache and he shouldn’t have been born. He made references to sex positions.”

Ram Kapoor will reportedly be dropped from the further promotional events of Mistry for his s**ually inappropriate comments
Following this incident, a complaint was raised, and the matter was passed to the senior leadership of JioHotstar, who, after discussing the same with the HR team, decided that Ram Kapoor would be dropped from further promotional events of the series. Ram Kapoor was also asked about the same, but he remained unresponsive to the questions. On the other hand, an insider revealed that the streamer, JioHostar always prioritise safety and dignity, and after the complaint was raised and discussed with the eyewitnesses, the senior leardship decided to distance itself from any kind of behaviour that normalise workplace misconduct, which is why they decided that the next interviews will be done solely by Mona from now on.
