Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12, 2025, after he suffered a heart attack. His death came as a shock to many, and it shows how unpredictable life can be. Sunjay swallowed a bee, which led him to face an allergic reaction, and then a cardiac arrest. In his personal life, Sunjay had been married thrice. Sunjay’s marriage to Karsima Kapoor grabbed a whole lot of attention.

After their divorce in 2016, Sunjay married Priya Sachdev. This is a tough time for Sunjay’s family members and especially for his wife, Priya. In the glimpses of his funeral and last rites, she was seen in pain. Amid this, some photos from the couple’s lavish reception party surfaced. The couple got married in 2017, and following the same, Sunjay threw a lavish reception party for his and Priya’s friends in New York. In the photos, Priya looked pretty in a white-toned lehenga with a beige choli and a cape. On the other hand, Sunjay opted for a grey-toned coat, which he teamed with black pants.

An attendee of the ceremony told MidDay that the ceremony took place in the NoMad HOTEL in Midtown Manhattan and the theme of the ceremony was Japanese cherry blossoms. The attendee revealed that the bride looked the prettiest. As per him, Priya and Sunjay were delighted and cut a cake to celebrate their union. On the other hand, the attendee’s attention was grabbed by Sunjay’s shoes, which had ‘I Do’ embroidered on them. In the attendee’s words:
“Just got back from the beautiful celebrations at the NoMad HOTEL in Midtown Manhattan, the decor had a Japanese cherry blossom theme and the speeches were lovely. Of course, the bride looked beautiful cutting her three-layered gigantic cake, but for me Sanjay’s shoes stole the show, as they were hand embroidered with the words ‘I Do’, it was a lovely touch!”

When Sunjay Kapur and Priya Sachdev met, both of them were dealing with their divorces from their respective partners. While Sunjay’s divorce from Karisma was the talk of the town, Priya’s split from Vikram Chatwal was also highly publicised. Priya once told the ET that they met on a flight, wherein they could understand that the perspectives that were made about them for their divorces were mostly misconceptions. Priya and Sunjay remained in touch and started dating during the latter’s divorce proceedings with Karisma. In the same interview, Priya said that their wedding took time to happen since ex-spouses and kids were involved. The duo got married in 2017, and they welcomed their son, Azarius.
Safira, Priya’s daughter from her first marriage, was also fathered by Sunjay. Priya shared a loving bond with Sunjay and Karisma’s kids, Kiaan and Samaira. Time and again, she used to post photos of them. Once during Kiaan’s birthday, Priya called him ‘the apple of her eye’. In an interview with the ET, Priya said that Sunjay is an amazing human being and a good father to his kids. She also revealed that neither of them ever wanted to instil any bad feelings in their kids’ minds about any of their parents. This approach speaks volumes about Priya’s maturity and her love for her and Sunjay’s four kids as well. Priya started her career as a financial analyst, and later she started looking after her family business. Following this, she also did some advertisements and was seen in the movie Neal ‘n’ Nikki.
