Actor Sonu Soon will be honoured with the Humanitarian Award at the 72nd Miss World Festival for his relief work during the Covid-19 pandemic. The event is set to take place on May 31 at the HITEX Arena in Hyderabad.
The Chairperson of the Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley, stated that Sonu’s efforts reflect the core values of their motto, ‘Beauty With A Purpose’. “We are honoured to present Sonu Sood with this award for his extraordinary service to humanity,” said Morley. She added, “Sonu Sood’s work continues to inspire people across the globe, and we are proud to celebrate his remarkable contributions to our stage.”
Besides receiving the award, the actor will also be among the judges at the Miss World 2025 grand finale.
In a statement shared by Altair Media, the official PR handle of Miss World, Sonu Sood expressed gratitude for the honour. He said, “Receiving the Humanitarian Award is deeply humbling. I share this recognition with every volunteer and life we’ve touched through the Sood Charity Foundation.”
During the lockdown, Sonu Sood helped thousands of people across India, arranging transport for stranded workers, providing medical aid, and launching free education and job training initiatives. His work through the Sood Charity Foundation had a huge impact on many lives.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, Sonu Sood’s last screen appearance was in ‘Fateh’. Also starring Jacqueliene Fernandez, the action-thriller is currently streaming on Jio Hotstar.
