Actor Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul named their daughter Evaarah, a choice with an interesting backstory. KL Rahul shared that he discovered the name by chance and, after looking up its meaning online, was instantly drawn to it. However, getting Athiya on board with the name required some serious persuasion.

KL Rahul discussed the process of choosing his daughter’s name at an event. A video of the conversation, featuring Rahul, who is currently playing for Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2025, has surfaced on social media.
KL Rahul stated, “This is something that I just stumbled upon. Aisa nahi that we went through a lot of books ya kuch dhundh rahe the (it’s not like we were scanning through a lot of books searching for the same). We did go through a couple of name books that were sent by some close friends”.
“And then I stumbled upon this name somewhere… Then I googled Evaarah and checked what the meaning is. I loved it from the minute I saw it. It took me a little time to convince Athiya. But her parents and my parents loved it. Then she slowly fell in love with that name,” the cricketer added.
In April, Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul celebrated a special moment on the cricketer’s birthday by sharing the first photo of their daughter. The couple also revealed her name, introducing her to their online fans on Instagram with the caption, “Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah/इवारा ~ Gift of God.” The heartfelt photo showed KL Rahul holding little Evaarah close, while Athiya gazed at her with love and affection.
Evaarah, a Sanskrit name meaning “gift of God,” was welcomed by Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul with a sweet announcement in March. Athiya shared a painting of two swans on Instagram with the message, “Blessed with a baby girl.” The couple, who married on January 23, 2023, at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala, had announced their pregnancy in November 2024 with the caption, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025,” alongside baby feet emojis.
