In a stabbing incident that occurred in Holon, a suburb of Tel Aviv, a woman in her 70s lost her life, and three others sustained injuries, according to Israeli police and medical personnel.
The police said that the attacker was “neutralised” and that they were searching for other potential suspects in the area. They also mentioned that the attacker was a resident of the West Bank, indicating the possibility of the attack being carried out by a Palestinian militant.
The region has been experiencing heightened tensions since the war in Gaza last year, which was triggered by Hamas’ attack on October 7.
Israel is currently preparing for potential retaliation following the killing of a high-ranking Hezbollah commander in Lebanon and Hamas’ top political leader in an attack in Tehran last week.
Initially, the police reported that four individuals were injured.
A woman lost her life in the incident, as confirmed by Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service. The organisation also reported that three men were injured: a 70-year-old in critical condition, a 68-year-old in severe condition, and a 26-year-old in moderate condition.
