Kajol, one of Bollywood’s most beloved and acclaimed actresses, recently spoke candidly about her experiences with paparazzi, highlighting how their constant presence can sometimes be intrusive and unsettling.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kajol expressed her discomfort with the relentless attention from photographers, who often follow her to various spots, including places she feels should be private. “I am a little conscious with the paps. I do feel that there are certain places where they shouldn’t be at least be. I find it very strange when run after you, you know, at a funeral, or when you are attending a death ceremony of someone, meaning you went to someone’s funeral, and someone is behind you saying ‘photograph, photograph.’”
She added, “I find that odd. I find that a little disrespectful. I find it strange actually. You can’t even go for lunch, or they are following you for kilometres. Like, get into my car, and you know, from Juhu, they followed me all the way from Juhu to Bandra, halfway to town, you know, to see where I am getting off and which building I am going into.
She stressed how such behaviour would be unacceptable for anyone outside the celebrity world. She said, “I find that disturbing because if I was a normal person, would you do that? You wouldn’t. I would have just taken you to the cops and said, “You know, this gentleman on the scooter is following me.”
Kajol’s remarks highlight the often unseen challenges faced by celebrities who live under constant public scrutiny. While their fame brings admiration, it also comes with the price of privacy invasion — a price Kajol openly acknowledges as difficult.
