Sonam Raghuvanshi, touted as ‘Sonam Bewafa’ along with her alleged boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, reportedly killed her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, in Meghalaya. Now, in a set of new events, there is a major twist in the case. Sonam reportedly crossed all her limits to be with her alleged lover, Raj. Sonam planned to keep him away from her after getting married to Raja. There have been multiple reports doing the rounds of Sonam having conditions on Raja before sleeping with him. He innocently adhered to everything she said. She had already told him she would sleep with him after they did puja at Assam’s famous Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.
Sonam Raghuvanshi had a condition before being intimate with Raja Raghuvanshi
According to a report by the Patrika, Sonam had made Raja walk through the dense jungles. She planned to get him murdered in total isolation with the help of the three killers. However, many tourists came to Nongriat on May 22 and 23, 2025, so Sonam and her gang did not have the time to execute the plan. Raja was then killed near Wei Sawdong Falls, and his body and that decomposed body was thrown into a deep gorge. A police officer told Hindustan Times that Sonam had convinced Raja to walk through the dense jungles as she thought the killers would have a good shot at murdering him. The officer added:
“But, since there were too many tourists trekking to Nongriat on May 22 and May 23, they couldn’t kill him there. They finally killed him near Weisawdong Falls and dumped his body into the deep gorge.”
Speaking of the case, on the other side, Raj, Sonam and all the accused have been arrested. They were taken to the court, where they had requested a 10-day police remand, which was then reduced to 8, and all the interrogations were being done from all possible angles. Well, all the accused are blaming each other of being the main mastermind.
What happened in the Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi case?
Sonam, a resident of Indore, has been accused of murdering her husband, Raja, when they were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya. The lady reportedly planned the murder as she was not happy marrying Raja and allegedly had an affair with Raj, who was an employee in her dad’s factory. It was on May 11, 2025, when Sonam and Raja got married and came to Meghalaya on May 20, 2025, via Guwahati in Assam. It was after three days that the duo went missing in the East Khasi Hills district after they last did a homestay at Nongriat village.
Sonam was missing till June 9, 2025, when the cops discovered Raja’s body in a gorge located near the Weisawdong Falls. Sonam was then mysteriously located at a dhaba in the Ghazipur area in Uttar Pradesh. SP Vivek Syiem of East Khasi Hills revealed to the Hindustan Times that the hired killers came to Guwahati on May 21, 2025. They took a machete from Guwahati and went to Shillong by road. All this while, Sonam was in touch with Raj, shared Raja’s live location with him, and then the coordination with the killers was done. Sonam’s brother, Govind, on the other hand, had shared with the press that he and his family had cut ties with Sonam.
