The trailer of ‘Kannappa’ starring Vishnu Manchu and Akshay Kumar released on June 14. Inspired by the legendary tale of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, the film presents a spiritual journey rooted in mythology.
The trailer impresses with its striking VFX and cinematic quality. Kannappa weaves together themes of devotion, vengeance, and transformation, following a warrior who evolves into a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. The narrative begins with Kannappa initially perceiving God as merely a stone. Actor Prabhas appears as Rudra, serving as a divine link between Kannappa and Lord Shiva.

Akshay Kumar and Kajal play the divine roles of Lord Shiva and Parvathi in ‘Kannappa’. Mohan Babu takes on the character of Mahadeva Shastri, while Sarath Kumar appears as Nathanathudu. The film also features prominent actors like Mohanlal, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, and Raghu Babu in key supporting roles.
The trailer also gives a glimpse into the unfolding narrative through a sequence of impactful events. Manchu Vishnu delivers a decent performance as the titular character, and the makers have gone all out with the film’s high-quality VFX. A significant portion of the movie has been shot in the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand.
The trailer launch of the film was earlier postponed due to the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. ‘Kannappa’ is slated to hit the big screens on June 27.
